Beautiful Surprise--Child Portrait, Mendham, NJ
Among the things I love about photography, are the beautiful surprises. What began as a rather formal birthday portrait session, unfolded into something unexpectedly casual. This birthday girl was promised an opportunity to dip her toes in the creek. After kicking-off her mary janes, she blew her mom a kiss and scampered off to explore.
I love her rumpled dress and tossled hair. She was so free and joyful. While it is important to get the must-have planned shots, leaving a bit of extra shooting time at the end of a session can result in a bit of magic.
When we let kids wander, they often take us on a beautiful journey.
I was so surprised by how many amazing shots were captured in such a short period of time! Not only do I love them, but my daughter loves them too. One of her friends said she looks like an angel which as you can imagine she was thrilled. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
